Gem, not Jem

Serious life updates soon, I promise. For now, here's this year's Halloween costume, which was the first in awhile to come together exactly as I'd envisioned, as well as the most comfortable costume I've ever worn for any purpose ever.

I originally painted my face and chest purple so as to go Full Amethyst, but it was driving me crazy so I took it off before I even left the house. Which was an excellent decision, especially since no one at work knew who I was either way. This conversation happened more times than seemed reasonable:

Coworker: Your gem costume looks great!
Me: You know who I am, awesome!
Coworker: Yeah, truly outrageous!
Me: ...oh. No, that's Jem. I'm dressed as *a* gem.
Coworker: *confused*
Me: You know, from the kids show about lesbian space rocks? ...nevermind.
